Dallas Public Library Events

EL CORAZON DE LA MUSICA CUBANA! THE HEART OF CUBAN MUSIC!
April 7, 7-8PM
"In honor of Celebrate Diversity Month, please join us for a fun evening celebrating the vitality of Cuban music. From Desi Arnaz to the Buena Vista Social Club, Pedro Hailey, a teaching assistant at the University of North Texas, will give a presentation about the history of Cuban music. We can't promise you'll stay in your seat when the music starts but we can promise that you will come away with a better appreciation of the culture of our neighbors to thesouth - Cuba!"

A DAY TO REMEMBER: THE JFK ASSASSINATION
April 21, 7-8PM
"On this most Americans can agree: President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, TX on November 22, 1963. It was a tragedy that shook the nation and the world. Come and meet Dr. Robert McClelland, one of the young doctors who fought valiantly to save the President's life. Listen as he describes what went on in Trauma Room One and then two days later as he administered open-heart massage while trying to save the life of Lee Harvey Oswald. Learn how the doctors present at the scene gave varying testimony to the Secret Service. A question-and-answer session will follow."

Both events are at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library: 1515 Young Street (Corner of Young and Ervay)
