STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED OR SENT BACK YOUR CENSUS QUESTIONNAIRE?


ANSWER IT NOW OVER THE PHONE!

That’s right – you can answer the Census over the phone via an automated answering system or with a live Census representative. How does it work?

One of two ways:

1. If you have a Census questionnaire : Simply call any of the numbers listed below and enter the identification number on your form. You will be guided through an automated system to answer the same 10 questions that are on the questionnaire.

2. If you do NOT have a Census questionnaire: Call any of the numbers below and select the option to receive Census information, then, say “customer service.” This command will put you in contact with a Census representative. At this point you can ask the representative to either take your answers over the phone, or send a questionnaire to your address.

It’s that easy! Answering by phone guarantees your participation in the Census and will prevent a Census worker from visiting your home. Be Counted now!

Curious about what happens next???

• April 19 is the deadline for the Census Bureau to receive your questionnaire by either phone or mail.

• Until May 1, you may obtain a replacement questionnaire from a Be Counted site or a QuestionnaireAssistanceCenter.

• Starting May 1 through July, Census Bureau Enumerators will visit all non-responsive homes. They will visit each home up to six times in an effort to get the resident to complete the questionnaire. Enumerators who are unable to reach household residents have the authority to ask neighbors to answer on behalf of the non-responsive residents.

• All enumeration efforts end July 10.

• The Census count is compiled and delivered to the President in December, 2010. Cities and states receive population data by March, 2011.
